M wanted a dramatic winter coat, so we decided to make a double breasted grey wool coat with a wide collar and full skirt. Twill tape, collar canvas and horsehair braid were used to give the collar and skirt their sculptural shapes. The skirt also features an interior pocket (similar to those found inside men's jackets) for some hidden storage space.
